
Strategic Leadership Program Moderator and Marker Positions
SLP moderator and marker positions may be available during the upcoming academic year and interested CMA members should submit their resume and a letter detailing related qualifications to Connie Sherry, Manager of Accreditation, at csherry@cma-canada.org.
Moderator details
Under contract with CMA Manitoba, SLP moderators are assigned to a section of candidates to deliver three
year 1 or three year 2 Interactive Sessions during 2008-09. Functioning within 2-person “self-managed teams”
moderators are responsible for:
As facilitators they participate in the advancement of the group’s collective learning, using the dynamics of the group and interactions among participants to facilitate learning and modify or reinforce behaviors and attitudes on the part of the large group or the individual. CMA Manitoba recruits moderators for the SLP delivery team on an annual basis, using a competitive application and interview process. Final selection of moderators ultimately is determined by program requirements in a particular fiscal year, both in terms of the number of moderators required and their specific skills, experience, and professional attributes. Previous group facilitation experience will be considered an asset as is knowledge of leading edge strategic planning concepts and advanced financial and management accounting topics.
Marker details
Under contract with CMA Canada, SLP assignment markers work within a National marker pool to ensure
consistency across sections, and provinces. SLP assignments are geared towards developing the
functional and enabling competence of candidates in accordance with the CMA Competency Map to meet concrete
accreditation goals and markers are responsible for:
As evaluators they assist CMA in ensuring that candidates are making satisfactory progress in terms of meeting the requirements of individual assignments within the program, and toward meeting the accreditation standards set nationally and provincially. CMA Canada recruits markers for the SLP delivery team on an annual basis, using a competitive application process. Final selection of markers ultimately is determined by program requirements in a particular fiscal year, both in terms of the number of markers required and their specific skills, experience, and professional attributes. Requirements include: Excellent written communication skills with strong knowledge of English grammar; demonstrated ability to work independently to meet prescribed deadlines; critical thinking skills and strong understanding of case analysis.
